Over the last few months, my body decided it needed a timeout. Not the gentle “take a breath” kind of rest, but the full “girl, SIT DOWN” variety. And for someone like me — someone who runs on ideas, momentum, and a never-ending to-do list — slowing down wasn’t just difficult… it felt impossible.
But the truth is simple: strength isn’t always about pushing harder. Sometimes it’s about listening, pausing, and giving yourself the space to come back stronger, clearer, and more inspired. That’s exactly what this season became for me.
When Your Holiday Vision Is Bigger Than Your Energy Level
If you know me, you know I live for the holiday season.
New scents, new collections, new labels — all the wicked magic I pour my heart into each year.
And this year?
My creativity was on fire. I had ideas stacked on top of ideas… meanwhile, my body said:
“Absolutely not. Sit your wicked self down. Rest.”
So yes — some of the holiday magic I imagined never made it from my brain to the studio table. And honestly, I’m not going to pretend that didn’t hurt. I wanted to bring you more. I wanted to deliver everything I dreamed up.
But one thing I promised myself when I started Wicked Redhead was this:
I will never create rushed, half-hearted, or forced products.
If it doesn’t meet my standard — your standard — it doesn’t launch.
Wicked Redhead is built on intention. On quality. On heart.
Not speed. Not pressure. Not burnout.
And honoring my health meant honoring the brand, too.
Finding the Magic in Slowing Down
Unexpectedly, stepping back reconnected me with my why.
I found myself lighting candles I made months ago and remembering the joy of scent, flame, and ritual. I remembered that I built this brand from love — from creativity — from wanting to offer comfort and beauty to others.
Slowing down made me fall back in love with Wicked Redhead in a deeper, quieter way.
Sometimes the most powerful spark comes from stillness.
From breathing space.
From giving yourself permission to be human.
